Warlord Games Prussian Landwehr WIP +1
Well, here they are after a stain/wash of Minwax Tudor Satin.
Their coats were highlighted prior to the staining process. After the stain is thoroughly dry they'll be sprayed with Testors Dullcote.
Shot of the rear of the figures - some of the details aren't really defined, especially at the sides, but are good enough for close ordered troops.

I like the red-brown musket straps.
Thanks - they actually are painted red (Vallejo), but the stain darkened them a bit - a good effect. Best, Dean

Hello, Greg. Thanks for your kind post and interest. Let's see, I've worked on these about 2 to 2 & 1/2 hours for the last three nights - so maybe about 7-8 hours total. This isn't counting the prep work of cutting the figures off the sprues and white glueing them to popsicle sticks. Which was probably about an hour or so - might be faster if you have those special snippers they make for cutting apart these kinds of plastic kits. Best, Dean
Howzit Dean - I like the way these are coming on. The varnish stain really makes them 'pop' visually. Just bought a box of the Warlord Russians at our 'Con and to be honest I wasn't that impressed - particularly the metal command figs which are very rough (the officer's pose doesn't match with the others) so I'll be interested to see the final result you get with the Prussians. Don't bother with white gluing them to sticks - get a cheap hot glue gun - they stick instantly and it will save time in prep. They also come off easier when you're finished too!

Mahalo, Doc. Hmmm, I looked a some of the Warlord French - they looked okay - one-piece castings like these Prussians. Quick & inexpensive route to field units. BTW, I have a glue gun and use it for metals, but was afraid it might make these plastic harder to pull off - hmmm, will try it next time. Aloha, Dean
Very nice painting on these miniatures that imo received much too much bad crits.
Those Prussian Landwehr are looking very nice Dean! Great colors!
